About Anne

I consider it an honor and a privilege to seek to represent the people of District 25 in the Tennessee House of Representatives.  A fiscally-responsible and hard-working Democrat, I will always put the interests of our families and communities before those of the insurance, pharmaceutical, and other high-dollar industries.

I am a native of Greensboro, North Carolina, and have lived in Tennessee since 1980.  Married to Crossville native and artist, Bill Quillen, I have lived in Crossville since 2011.  I am mom to an  amazing son, Aaron F. Hodges, and stepmom to three Quillen girls and step-grandmother to six Quillen grandchildren.

I was very fortunate to have had parents who stressed the importance of an education and who helped me attend college as well as post-graduate schools.  I have a degree in History and a Masters in Public Administration.  In 1982, I began law school as the single parent of a toddler who was almost five by the time I received my law degree.

My entire career was spent in public service.  Most notably, I worked for the Tennessee Valley Authority Office of the Inspector General (OIG).  Every federal agency has an OIG which is charged with conducting audits and investigations of potential fraud, waste, and abuse affecting the agencies they serve.  After retiring, I directed a non-profit organization which provided rent and utility payments on behalf of people living in 12 rural, East Tennessee counties who suffered from the economic downturn of 2008.

These days, I work with Bill at his store - the Quill & Art - on Main Street in Crossville, right between Cahoots and The Grinder House.   If you'd like to talk with me about the issues or just visit, stop by.
